I took a trip to Elena, a charming mountain town, with three of my friends. It was a cold, snowy day when we arrived, but we had a nice and interesting time.
Exploring the Village
We arrive at a hotel in a village near Elena, where the weather is snowy. The village is quiet and peaceful, perfect for rural tourism. The town is filled with old houses, and some new ones too. The calmness and silence here are a welcome break from the usual hustle and bustle.

We wander around the village, taking in the scenic views. It’s a great place for relaxation and reflection, far from the stress of the city.
An Incident That Teaches a Lesson
While exploring, one of my friends, with his playful manner, taps me lightly on the back when I’m not looking, and laughs as I panic. I ask him nicely not to do it, but he does it again. This time, I get angry and punch him lightly in the chest.
But my friend overreacts and starts threatening me with a fight. For a moment, there’s a bit of chaos in the center of the town. I realize this situation isn’t worth escalating, so I apologize to him for the sake of peace.
God’s Word on Avoiding Fights
At that moment, I remember a verse from the Bible: “Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on arguing.” – Proverbs 20:3. I’m glad we didn’t start a fight, and the situation calms down quickly.
Visiting the Waterfall and Other Sights
We continue exploring the town, visiting a beautiful waterfall and other sights. The town of Elena offers plenty to enjoy.

There is also a nicely renovated stadium in the town with a great running track.

In the evening, we have a lovely party at the hotel, sipping some wine in the chilly weather.

A Visit to a Nearby Village
On our way back home, we stop at a nearby village famous for its statues of voivodes—heroes of the past who fought for justice in Bulgaria.

I really enjoy rural tourism. The peacefulness, the quiet atmosphere, and the fresh air provide a sense of calm and relaxation. I’m thankful that I followed God’s word and avoided getting into a fight, even though I felt I was in the right. It’s always better to keep the peace, and God helps me make wise choices that protect me from unnecessary dangers. After all, God is the Greatest judge.
